How to repair insulin pens
Insulin pen is also a consumable that can be damaged after prolonged use. However, in general, insulin pens can be repaired if they are broken. So how can insulin pens be repaired if they are broken?
1. Insulin pen injection button cannot be pressed
(1) Reason: The needle is blocked or the inner needle of the needle does not penetrate the rubber film of the insulin pen cartridge. When encountering the inability to press the insulin pen injection button, the most common reason is due to the needle. Many patients use insulin pen needles multiple times instead of changing them once, which can easily lead to needle blockage. Another situation is that when replacing a new needle, due to improper operation or the needle itself, the inner needle of the needle cannot penetrate the rubber film of the insulin pen cartridge. Both of these can prevent the insulin pen injection button from being pressed.
Solution: When the insulin pen injection button cannot be pressed due to the needle, a new insulin pen needle should be replaced. When installing the needle, keep the needle in line with the insulin pen and tighten the needle clockwise. This can avoid bending and breaking of the inner needle, making it easier for the needle to penetrate the insulin pen cartridge rubber membrane.
(2) Reason: Insulin in the cartridge is used up
After replacing the new needle, if the insulin pen injection button still cannot be pressed, check the insulin pen cartridge. If the medication in the cartridge has been used up, the insulin pen injection button cannot be pressed.
Solution: At this point, it is necessary to replace the insulin pen cartridge in a timely manner
